JLS® has been supporting Red Lion Boys Soccer/Booster Club since the beginning 2016-2017 school year in favor of long time JLS Employee, Frank Weinstein. Frank has two sons who play, Brandon who just graduated and Ben, now a Sophomore. Booster Clubs help try to fill in the gaps for schools who are short on funds for sports and arts programs.
Here are a few examples of what the Red Lion Boys Soccer Booster Club was able to do for the players this past season:
- Purchase of polo shirts for all new players to wear for special events. Each logo slightly different, representing the year they joined.
- Purchase of banners, pictures and posters in support of each player that get hung at the stadium. Seniors get to take their banner home at the end of season banquet.
- Blanket with large logo and player number given to seniors at banquet.
- $50 gift card to each senior for their college – if not attending college, a gas gift card is given.
- A book about the team with a personalized page for each senior.
- All players' warm up jackets.
- 4 College scholarships - $500 each.
Frank's son Brandon started Varsity Soccer as a freshman and was the first freshman to do so in five years. This past season was not what was expected for the Weinsteins due to a number of injuries along with COVID-19 cutting their season short. Last season, the team won Division 1 for the first time in 10 years. Brandon was one of two team captains and ran defense.
