For more than 5 decades, HOBY – Hugh O’Brian Youth Leadership has been inspiring young people to make a difference, becoming catalysts for a positive change in their home, schools, workplaces, and locally. HOBY’s mission is to inspire and develop the global youth and volunteers to want a life dedicated to leadership, service, and innovation. As an American youth leadership program, HOBY has a lengthy history of successful motivation of youth to be developed into outstanding leaders.
Much of the work at HOBY includes youth exploring and identifying their own unique leadership skills. No one is alike, so they don’t have a specific set of attributes set onto HOBY participants. Always stressing self-knowledge, uniqueness, and authenticity, never conformity. The students learn to mobilize their own unique traits and get exposure to specific leadership principles they can discover and incorporate into their own personality.
